PACKAGE SAFARI RATES INCLUDE
- All Outfitting, Government fees and licences for a period designated by your selected package.
- All Royalties, Company Trophy Handling, Concession Fees, Community Development fee and one Firearm License.
- Services of a complete safari crew, including Professional Hunter, trackers, cooks, skinners, stewards, tent attendants, and their necessary assistants.
- The provision of transport; one modern 4 x 4 safari vehicle per professional hunter and the necessary load carriers for equipment, provisions, trophies and staff.
- Provision of fully equipped first class tented camp, including mosquito nets, beds, comfortable mattresses, camp furnishings, water filters, cooking utensils, fridge, freezer, HF and VHF radio communications. Wi-Fi, where available, and daily laundry service in each main camp. Supply of quality food, alcoholic beverages (in moderation), soft drinks, bottled water. Special dietary requirements will be taken into consideration, provided advance notice is given. Champagne is not included (special request).
- Preparation of trophies (skinning and salting) in the field. Processing documentation and crating of trophies for exportation along with the provision of a veterinary certificate.
- Provision of a comprehensive medical chest, however we do advise medical insurance from Global Rescue or Ripcord is taken.
- A company representative to assist you with customs and immigration at the Airport upon arrival and departure.
STANDARD & PACKAGE SAFARI RATES DO NOT INCLUDE
- Firearm license of US $200 per firearm for 2nd and 3rd firearm (1 firearm license is included in each hunting permit).
- Import duties on ammunition at $2 per round.
- Trophy fees for any game taken or wounded and or lost (including Anti-Poaching and Community Development contribution).
- Transfers to and from camp via air charter. (NB: Some packages may be offered with this included)
- Hotel accommodation and personal expenses before, during and after the hunting days.
- Commercial airline flights, visas, airport tax and items of a personal nature.
- Gratuities to the staff and the professional hunter, to be paid in cash (please note that US$ bills from BEFORE the year 2010 are no longer accepted).
- Cost of transporting equipment and personnel to places beyond our concessions for specific purposes as requested i.e. photographic safari expeditions or foot safaris.
- Airfreight and Government export fee payment of trophies from the country to the destination.
PAYMENT OF FEES & TROPHY FEE DEPOSIT
- Full payment for your safari, together with the Trophy Fees deposit, must be received 90 days prior to the start date. If full payment has not been received when you arrive in Tanzania, you risk not being permitted to begin your safari. This deposit will be credited towards the trophies taken on your hunt, and any balance is settled at the end of the safari.
- Trophy fees, including anti-poaching fees, are applicable to all Game shot, including those wounded and lost Game.
- At the end of your safari, the final invoice reflecting all expenses will be presented to you and sent by email as soon as possible.
- The balance of the trophy deposit MUST be settled prior to departure from the country the hunt is performed in. If any refund is applicable, it will be paid to you via bank transfer.
- Trophies will only be shipped after full payment of your safari, and the freight charges for export of your trophies have been received.
- All payments are payable in cash or electronic fund transfer (EFT). Personal checks will not be accepted without prior arrangement. (please note that USD cash bills from BEFORE the year 2010 are not accepted).
ALL RATES QUOTED IN UNITED STATES DOLLARS US$ AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
BOOKING CONDITIONS
- A deposit of 50% of the safari rate is required to confirm the booking and your requested quota.
- A deposit of 50% of the trophy fees is required to obtain all relevant licences 90 days prior to the hunt date.
- The balance of 50% of the day rates will be due 60 days prior to the hunt.
- Game Trophy Fees and all Government Royalties charged will be those applicable to the year the safari is taken, regardless of what is quoted on the initial contract. Invoices and quotes are subject to change based on any change in Government fees and/or Game Trophy Fees.
- With any cancellation occurring prior to 90 days of the start of the safari, the deposit will be re-funded ONLY if the safari is re-sold, and a 20% administration fee will be deducted.
- Any cancellation occurring within 90 days of the start of the safari no refund will be granted save for any Trophy Fee Deposit paid.
- It is highly recommended to get Trip Cancellation Insurance to cover yourself.
- Force Majeure, (meaning acts of God, explosion, floods, tempest, fire or accident, war, threat of war, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance, Government intervention, viral or disease epidemic, weather conditions or other untoward occurrences). In the event of Force Majeure, SHAW AND HUNTER LIMITED is entitled to vary or cancel any itinerary or arrangement. Refunds in this case are solely to the discretion of SHAW AND HUNTER LIMITED, although all endeavours shall be made to refund where possible.
ADDITIONAL SAFARI OPTIONS
- Baiting vehicle and crew: US $350 per day and $50 for motorbike team. Minimum 7 days.
- Baiting vehicle with a Professional Hunter: US $600 per day. Minimum 7 days.
- Luxury Photographic safari vehicle per day: US $350, with PH or Professional Guide US $600.
- 2nd and 3rd firearms Import/Export license: US $200 per firearm. (Max 3 guns with 100 rounds each).
- Ammunition import duty is calculated upon arrival by customs.
LICENSING REGULATIONS & RESTRICTIONS
- The hunting season in Tanzania is July 1 to December 31.
- The minimum legal length for Leopard is 1.30 meters (51.2 inches) from tip of nose to base of tail.
- The minimum legal size for Elephant is 160 cm length (63 inches) of tusk or 20kg weight (44.09 pounds).
- The minimum legal age for Lion is 6 years old.
- Minimum calibre for dangerous game is .375” (9.3mm).
- Handgun hunting is strictly forbidden.
- Bow Hunting is legal. The requirements for bow hunters are the same as those for regular hunters.
FIREARMS & AMMUNITION
- Each hunter may legally import 3 rifles and 1 shotgun and a maximum of 100 rounds per rifle.
- We recommend medium calibres for all the Plains game and most hunters bring medium calibre magnums like .300 Winchester, .338 Winchester etc and sighted in at 200 to 275 meters.
- The minimum calibre for dangerous game is .375. However, for those who can shoot the .416 calibres comfortably and accurately, we highly recommend any of the 416 Rigby, Remington or Dakota.
- We highly recommend use of only premium quality ammunition like the Barnes X series and Trophy Bonded Bear Claw soft point ammo for both medium and heavy calibres.
- The heavy calibre rifles should be sighted at 100 meters with either of the above-mentioned soft point ammo as well as Flat fronted solid ammo like Trophy Bonded Sledgehammer and the flat fronted Barnes banded solids.
- The ratio 2/3 soft to 1/3 solid ammunition is advised for those hunting Buffalo or other thick-skinned game.
INSURANCE
- We strongly recommend that you obtain the following types of insurance:
- Trip Cancellation. (Please purchase this immediately after you purchase your hunt to avoid any disappointment in case anything unexpected happens and you are forced to cancel. We highly recommend Global Rescue, Ripcord Rescue and Travel insurance).
- Accidental Death and Disability.
- Medical. (Make sure your policy coverage extends to Tanzania and all countries you will travel through).
- Emergency Evacuation. We highly recommend Global Rescue, Ripcord Rescue and Travel insurance.
- Theft or Loss of personal effects. We highly recommend Global Rescue, Ripcord Rescue and Travel insurance.
- Please understand it is your responsibility to make sure all the above-mentioned policies are up to date and you are fully insured before you travel.
